Mental Health Awareness Workshop
Friday 24th September – 13.30 – 16.30
As part of LCC’s September staff development offer the LCC Mental Health Advisors are providing a workshop for staff . This workshop is recommended for new teaching staff , staff new to UAL or for existing staff who would like to refresh their knowledge of UAL advice around recognising and supporting students with mental health issues.
This session aims:
To provide a brief overview of student mental health, including some recognisable signs/symptoms that may indicate a mental health issue.
To discuss how to support students with mental health issues or students in distress; including information on the services available to UAL students; and how and when to refer.
To explore role related responsibilities in working with students with mental health issues. We will use activities and discussion to explore managing professional boundaries and confidentiality.
