Mentimeter Pilot
How can Menti be used?
Mentimeter is a web-based interactive presentation tool designed to make meetings, lectures, and events more engaging by allowing real-time audience participation. Create interactive slides with polls, quizzes, word clouds, scales, and open-ended questions.
UAL will be piloting Mentimeter for the 25/26 Academic year. Allowing staff to have full access to all the features of Mentimeter in order to gauge demand.
There are different question types in Menti. Multiple Choice: great for quizzes or quick checks. Word Cloud: perfect for brainstorming or gauging opinions. Open-Ended: useful for deeper reflections or feedback. Scales: rate agreement or confidence (e.g., “How confident are you about today’s topic?”). Ranking: prioritise topics, ideas, or preferences.
Here are some example of questions for a journalism class.
- Which social media platform has the biggest impact on journalism? (Multiple choice or ranking)
- Rate your understanding of media bias. (Scale)
- Describe journalism in one word. (Word cloud)
- What’s one question you have about today’s topic? (Open-ended)
- Which headline grabs your attention most? (Image-based multiple choice)
Open-ended questions can be really good for starting a class (Entry Ticket) and at the end of a class to see what information has stuck with the students (Exit Ticket).
Examples of Menti Slides
Last academic year some LCC courses took part in a small pilot. Here are examples of some slides that were used.

How will the pilot work?
From 13th October 2025 you should be able to sign into Mentimeter using your UAL e-mail and password. We will be using the Single Sign-On feature to make it as easy as possible.
If you already use Mentimeter with a UAL e-mail address, your account will be brought under the new UAL licence. If you use Mentimeter without a UAL e-mail address, we recommend you change the e-mail address associated with your account.
If you are new to Mentimeter, we recommend you complete Mentimeter For Educations Beginner Course which is part of the menti academy. Or book an induction with the LCC Digital Learning Team.
When you start using Mentimeter with your students, share your good practice with us for use in case studies and training sessions.
More information on the pilot will be published on Canvas during October.
