Part 1: Introduction to University (from 14 September)

Interactive Moodle activities designed to help students prepare for their exciting university journey. They will be introduced to some of the skills that will help them study on their courses, and get to know staff and students.

Part 2: Live virtual workshops (21 September to 1 October)

Workshop 1: Image making: Staff introduce easy ways of making images at home with minimal equipment and materials.

Workshop 2: Reflective Writing: Producing short texts that will help students to track progress and plan their development.

Workshop 3: Design a Postcard: In the final session, students make a piece of work in response to a short brief. These sessions are designed for learning online and require no special skills, equipment or materials. They are a chance for students to practise some of the ways of working they will experience on their courses.

Student Lounge (from 5 October)

Students meet current LCC PeerMentors in an online space.

Mentors are students in the second or third year who support Year 1 students in the transition to university. They will be available to answer students’ questions on a forum and share some of their LCC experiences during live sessions online.

If you have any questions about Get Ready or Peer Mentoring, please contact Louise Taylor (l.o.taylor@lcc.arts.ac.uk).
