UK Research Funding Landscape
11:00 – 13:00 – online
Chris To and Stephan Barrett from the RMA Funding Team will provide a summary of the UK research funding landscape and research funding ap- plication process at UAL. They will cover some key funders and schemes within the arts and humanities with a particular focus on those grants suitable for Early Career Researchers and those who are new to applying for external research funding. There will be ample time for discussion and questions following our presentation.

VR Action Research Group
12:30 – 13:15 – online
This is an initial meeting for those who are interested in experimenting with VR technology to support learning. Those interested should be up for trialling activities with students, gaining feedback and help develop a roadmap for use of VR within a learning environment within a range of subjects across the college.

1st Yr. Leaders Forum

This forum will be an opportunity for 1st yr leads to reflect on the past year, share experiences and initiatives but also examine the challenges you’ve faced . We can also use the time to think about the next academic year, identify our priorities and explore how we can support each other.

Name Pronunciation Training
15:00 – 17:00 – online
In preparation for the next academic year learn a set of skills to help you say, and remember, the names of our international students with greater confidence and accuracy. This workshop includes some basic linguistics, applied strategies for the workplace and a specific focus on Chinese and East European names. If you hesitate to say the names ‘Zhang Xiao Qi’ (Mandarin) and ‘Artjoms Zvaigzne’ (Latvian), then this training session is for you.
