Studying Online: Guidance for your Students

To help students navigate online learning two students from MA Photojournalism and Documentary Photography have written a guide sharing their experiences of online learning.

Francesco Pennacchio and Nicholas Schwaiger have produced a guide for students on how to learn and collaborate online using a variety of platforms. (Read more about Francesco and Nicholas at the end of this article)

Student authored Guide to Online Learning

Many of the digital tools recommended by them are non-UAL tools and platforms. Students are free to use any tool in their studies as it is their choice but there are restrictions on what staff can require students to use. The University has guidance for staff on the Use of non-UAL digital platforms in learning and teaching (pdf). It explains when it is appropriate and when it is unacceptable to use non-UAL platforms.

There is also a UAL website to support students studying online this term containing guides on using Moodle, Collaborate and Teams as well as information about Academic Support and the Library. Please promote UAL Studying Online to your students.
