July Staff Development-Wk 1

Throughout July staff at LCC will have the opportunity of joining a variety of staff development sessions under the themes of Staff and Student Support, Teaching and Learning, Wellbeing and EDI: Racial Literacy.

The information below shows the variety of sessions available to you this week . Please book via ESS unless it states otherwise.

Educational Ethics Tuesday 7th July 3:00 – 4:00

Negotiating the complexity of our ethical environment is more important than ever before.  The session will reflect on the work-related ethical dilemmas you and your students face and the processes of educational ethics

Core Principles in Disability Inclusion Wednesday 8th July 10:00 – 11:30

This interactive online session introduces core principles in disability inclusion. It offers a space to explore practical ways to remove the barriers disabled people face, as well as an introduction to the Disability Service at UAL and how it works with staff and students.

Making Assessment Briefings Inclusive Wednesday 8th July 2:00 – 3:30

Assessment briefings are essential in students’ understanding of the required outcomes in assessed tasks. This interactive session will support you to identify possible barriers to student inclusion in assessment briefings, and offer practical strategies to manage these.

Reading group on Cultural Awareness and Online Learning Wednesday 8th July 3:00 – 4:00

A synchronous/real-time session hosted by Matt Lingard, Mark Ingham and Emily Salines for colleagues to engage with selected readings on Culturally Responsive Teaching and Culturally Mediated Instruction in synchronous and asynchronous learning.

Total Tone Online Every Thursday 5:15 – 6:00
