Moodle 4.1 and Summer Roll Over

Update 06.07.23

Moodle is now BACK UP (06.07.23) after having had a major make over. It is now looking and feeling positively different. The upgrade brings major security improvements, a more current and easy to navigate interface and improved functionality.

Previously posted information (before 06.07.23)

Now that our staging space is ready, following a productive collaboration with all Colleges; the UAL Digital Education team are preparing a set of videos demonstrating how the new Moodle looks and functions. The upgrade will be supported by a set of training sessions in the coming weeks and at the beginning of September.

The LCC Digital Learning team will be here to support you during this slight transition. The significant upgrade has come with a few challenges as the Grid course format that had been implemented during our Templates project, was not fully supported.

We have now worked out the solution to fix this shortcoming and it will be implemented on 300 sites after the Rollover takes place. The work will be carried out in collaboration with our Course Support Administrators colleagues.

The Digital Learning Team will keep you up to date as we reach each milestone, please make a note of the Key Dates below.

Grid format pages

If your School, Course or Unit sites use a Grid course format, the Digital Learning team will need to do some manual remedial work over the summer to apply a fix so that your sites look as they do now.

With the help of the Course Support Assistants, the Digital Learning team will import those sites and their content so that we can make the necessary adjustments during the process. Once the sites content and interfaces are ready, we will release them back to academic colleagues.

Changes to content by academics can take place before the Rollover and after the sites are released. Please see Key dates below.

Please note that sites without the Grid format will be released earlier.
